Hi!

So I've been incognito for over a month now and it's been super weird not blogging.  So, my plan is to make posts more often and shorter!
Bam.

That's it.

Just kidding.
Here are a few things that happened since the last time I blogged.

I've directed and produced my first two broadcasts for our student-run TV station!
I was the maid of honor at my cousin's wedding!
Mickey and I went ice skating on our way back from the wedding (in Houston)
I've made my own website, business cards, and Facebook personality page
I've been exercising four times a week and have picked up Zumba again!
Mickey and I celebrated our year and a half-aversary! (cheesy?) ;)
Mickey has another part-time job recording videos and posting them online for a magazine!
& we smelled fall for the first time!

P.S. Did I mention we'll be graduating from college in 42 days? Yup.  :)

Our first official Starbucks date the first time we smelled fall!

You'll Love David's Bridal

Guess who has a second job again.
Yup.
This girl.

The last second job I had was with Cracker Barrel as a server.
Yikes.
It lasted six months but I had to quit because school was getting crazy.

Now, here I am again.
I have to say, I think I'm gonna like this second job much better than the last.
I learned SO MUCH from being a server.
Stuff that I'll keep with me forever but I feel I needed a new experience.

I applied to David's Bridal a while back and got called for a group interview.
It was uncharted territory for me.
By the end of the group interview, I had made people laugh and I was happy with that. :)

I was ecstatic to be called back for the second round of interviews.
This time they were to be with the manager of the store.
They got overbooked and we had to do group interviews again.
I was a pro by this time.
Haha. I kid.
They went very well. I told them about my OCD-ness.
My immense love for my New York Public Library Student Planner and Post-Its.
 They laughed.  Haha.

Sometime in between the second interview and the third interview
they said they would call our references.
My boss at my chapel, Saundra, was one of them.
She's been so supportive, especially as super busy wedding season has slowed down.

The last round of interviews was to be conducted over the phone with the head honcho in the area.
I was surprised by how short the interview was.

I was called and told the wonderful news on the 11th.
It was awesome!
I have never received a phone call telling me I got a job.
It was such a new experience.

I went in the next day to fill out paperwork.
Linda, the manager, concluded with shaking my hand and saying:
"Welcome to David's Bridal"
How cool! :)
So what will I be doing you ask?
Oh, you know, only helping brides pick out the most important dress of their lives!
You can call me Amy, the Wedding Consultant.
Although here are just a few of my other titles:

Intern
College Senior
Assistant Wedding Coordinator
Entertainment Director (at my university)
Girlfriend to Mickey ;)
Aspiring television host. :)

I'm excited to start!
P.S. They never called Saundra. I was like... "Whaa?"
Maybe they didn't need my references?

Yay!

Niche

Mickey and I were camera operators for our school's first tv broadcast!
That was fun!
It was semi-stressful though but it was nice to be behind the scenes for a change.
Our next broadcast is this thursday!

We took a roadtrip to my cousin's wedding!
It was fun!
About 8 hours worth of driving total.
:)
The wedding was beautiful and I'm so excited to hear of
all the wonderful things coming their way!

This was our third wedding together! Mickey and I definitely have fun at weddings and it's fun to see different kinds of weddings other than the ones from my chapel.

The dark spot on my face is my phone's shadow. Haha.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately and I know I am just over-thinking (like I always do)
and maybe it's just because it's kinda starting to hit me that this will be my last spring semester in college but I just worry that I haven't found my niche.
There are so many people I know that know for sure what they're going to be, for example, Mickey knows with all his heart that he's going to be a director and he's freakishly good at it.

Me, on the other hand, I know I want to work with television.  I say I want to be television producer/assistant director but yet I always find myself itching to get infront of the camera.  I love to sing (A LOT).  I love to dance all kinds of dance styles and choreograph dances in my head sometimes to music on the radio.  I love to act and get excited when I'm performing on stage or while I'm reading a play and can identify with a character and immediately cast myself in that play (subconsciously).  I love to play the violin and miss it.  I'm pretty smart (I've been on the Dean's List since my first semester in college) and I love learning languages and making people laugh.

But what is my niche?

Found on Pinterest.

I'm pretty good at all of those I just mentioned but there isn't something
that I'm really really good at or something that I just know is my niche.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I just wish I knew what my niche was.

So, yeah, I hope that I find it soon and have fun in the process.

Oh goodness.  Deep thoughts so late at night.
I'm sleepy. Goodnight y'all.

(& snow tubed, saw Pacific Ocean, went to the Northwest! and faced my fear of heights)

I guess you could say that this year treated me very well.  I know my momma
would be very proud of how I'm doing.  I still can't believe I lived a whole year without my mom, 2012 was lived without her here.  A part of me is freakishly proud and another part of me is extremely sad.  I had a lot of firsts this year and I wish I could have shared those with her but for now, I'll just know she's watching me from above sharing those moments with me.

I can't believe I'm 20, or that I found the most amazing guy in the world, or that I saw snow this year, or that I even had two jobs for 5 months while taking on a full course load at school.  I'm just blessed and thankful to God and my sweet momma for all the blessings they've given me and even though we lost some loved ones this year,  I know they're in heaven having a blast.

So, thank you 2012 for being much better for me than 2011 was.
Thank you for my loved ones.  Here's to 2013 being even better!
I can't wait for all that is to come!
I know I'll certainly be ringing it in with some of my favorite people! ;)
