The City of Dreams

As promised, I will give a brief recap of my trip to New York.
My aunt and I left on the 20th and returned the 24th.

Here is what we saw/went to in no particular order:

-Carlo's Bakery *
[My mom and I used to watch the show on TLC and it
was awesome to be able to go there! I hope to return and get something from there!]
-Kleinfeld *
[This was one of my favorite places we went.  Again, my mom and I used to watch the show Say Yes to the Dress and even planned our budget for the dress.  It was something very emotional because I always hoped my mom would walk me down the aisle.  I showed my mom my dream dress a couple of years ago and she loved it.  It's funny, she told me that as soon as we moved there she would start making down payments for the dress and then by the time I would get engaged, we would already have the money.  Haha.  I was able to see a couple of the ladies that have appeared on the show! It was awesome! Mickey and I even watch that show sometimes, what can I say?
The boy has good taste in television shows! ;) ]
-FAO Schwartz *
[This was cool! Last time my mom and I went to New York we weren't able to stop here so I made it a goal to go there this time. I felt like a kid again and I even played THE BIG PIANO!
I would love to be able to get stuff for my children one day from there. There was this freakishly amazing stroller there! Oh gosh!]
-NBC Studio Tour *
[This was another one of my favorite places! I hope to one day work at NBC and so it was just amazing! We were able to see so many of the studios including the SNL studio.  It just sucked that we couldn't take pictures. At the end of the tour, I somehow volunteered to be the weather girl.  That was fun! After it was over and I got my DVD people suggested I go into television! I was like "Awww, thank you! I am!" It was awesome!]
-St. Patrick's Cathedral *
[This was fun! Although it is under construction, it is still such a beautiful place.  They had an area were you could write good wishes to Pope Francis.  I definitely wrote something in there.  When I was younger I thought I would get married there but it's interesting how things change.  Now, I don't see myself getting married anywhere else other than my chapel.  Crazy, huh? Who would've thought?]
-Central Park *
[I absolutely loved Central Park! I am not a big fan of the outdoors AT ALL but Central Park is perfect for me! It's so gorgeous and there's always something to do!]
-Alfredo of Rome {Restaurant}
[This is where I had the best cappuccino I'VE EVER HAD.]
-Brooklyn Diner
-Applejack Diner
-Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co. {Restaurant}
-H&M
-Disney Store *
[We walked in and it was awesome! There were so many Mickey and Minnie things there that I turned into a little kid in a candy store.  Last Valentine's Day Mickey and I got each other Mickey and Minnie plush toys.  I love all things Mickey and Minnie and so it was pretty cool to see so many of those things there!]
-Forever21
-Grimaldi's Pizzeria
-Lego Store

We stayed at The Manhattan Club.
They were so very sweet there!

This was a wonderful trip and made me fall in love with this beautiful city even more.  I missed Mickey terribly and hope to one day go there together!

But, until then, see you next time NYC! ♡♡♡

Monday, May 20

One step closer.

Well, on Mexican Mother's Day, Mickey and I got internships at one of the local television stations!!!
HOORAY!

He will be following a cameraman for half of the internship and then an editor for the other half.
I'll be following a reporter.

Needless to say, we're both very excited!

Also,
Mickey will be in charge of DJ Services at our university's radio station.
I will be the Entertainment Director for university's television station.

Again, we're both very excited!

Lastly,
I'm 4 days 21 hours 25 minutes and 52 seconds
away from my 21st birthday.

It's crazy to think I'm only 4 years away from 25.  That was the age I thought life would be fantastic.  I also used to think that's when I would be married with kids.  Now, married sounds amazing but with kids? I think I could wait a bit.  :)

I'll be going to the city that never sleeps from today till the eve of my birthday.
I will actually be taking a shower in approximately 23 minutes.
I know, I'm a rebel.
We'll (my aunt and I) be leaving to go to the airport at 4am.

When I return I will be less than 12 hours away from my birthday!

I will give all the details about the trip and my birthday celebration once I return.

(& other big events)

I'm gonna miss him SO DANG much.

Volare. I believe I can fly.

It is with a heavy heart that I tell y'all these news.  I will not be studying abroad in Rome during Spring 2013.  After much consideration and crying, it is a better option to not go.  As y'all remember from my first post about studying abroad, I was pumped about it.  This was way back in December 2011.  My Italian teacher suggested I go during the spring because the weather is nicer, so I began looking into it after being apprehensive about it.
I told my friends about it and Mickey became interested in the idea as well.  I took on a second job at Cracker Barrel to save money and to still be able to pay the bills.  At the beginning of this semester, Mickey and I went and visited Alanna and we continued the process of applying to study abroad.  Everything was fine but slowly we started realizing that, financially, this would be something very difficult.  I had money saved up to pay bills while away but my concern was about my return to the U.S. and internships and everything.  Paying for the plane ticket and passports and additional expenses were also of concern.
After obstacle after obstacle, Mickey and I still kept persevering through and tried to figure out ways to work with them (obstacles) but then the biggest one came.  If we stayed here in the U.S. we could graduate in December 2013.  If we would go, we wouldn't graduate 'til at least Spring 2014, if not later, as some classes aren't offered every semester.  My biggest worry is that I need to graduate and get a job soon so I can start living independently. I'll be turning 21 in 175 days and as I get older I want to make sure I can get in the business and work my way up ASAP.  I will start almost anywhere. I just want to get there and do it.

I would have loved to study abroad in Rome and learn the Italian language more but I feel that it's not God's plan for us now.  Ironically, today I found out I received the Gilman Scholarship, it's a study abroad scholarship Mickey and I had applied for a while back.  I'm not gonna lie, declining that scholarship was one of the harder things I've had to do in college. We were both extremely sad to not be able to do this but realize that everything happens for a reason, so here are the opportunities available for us here!

1. Mickey is Vice-President of To Write Love on Her Arms at our university! Congrats babe!
2. I can audition for The Memory of Water and even if I don't get in, I'll have added experience.
3. I can cut down on the amount of time I work at Cracker Barrel. (I'll tell y'all more about that another time).
4. I can volunteer here and put in my application for graduation in January.
I must have God's side hurting from all the laughing.  Haha.
5. We can possibly continue Off Broadway!
6. I can not be as restricted financially!
7. We get amazing classes here!
8. We can graduate in December 2013 (God willing).
9. We won't miss all those spring holidays with loved ones.
10. I can continue participating in events with Catholic Daughters, TWLOHA and maybe if our Associated for Women in Communications organization grows on campus, I can be an officer!

Yes.  I'm very sad that this didn't work out but I know that God and my mom have bigger plans for me.  This just wasn't meant to be, not now.  So, wish us luck as we finish this semester strong!

Weight, Giants, Acting

-I apologize for not blogging as much but I've been super busy with stuff but I'm glad to tell y'all that…DRUM ROLL….I've lost 3 more pounds! I have lost 8 pounds total!!! :) I'm so excited! My pants are big on me! I'm waiting to get to my goal weight so I can get new jeans!!!

-School has been going okay, some classes are definitely not as fun as others but that's what college is so it's all okay.

-THE NEW YORK GIANTS WON THE SUPER BOWL!

-My friends and I are part of this skit kind of company thing and we have been working on shorts and stuff and it's been SO. MUCH. FUN. Not even kidding.  We just finished filming this one horror short film and it was frickin fantastic! I got to cry in it! It definitely cured my acting withdrawals for the time being. I will most likely share this with y'all because I'm beyond proud of it.

-I will share more info soon but I just wanted to post something because I really needed to share stuff with y'all. :)

-P.S. Happy Monday!

My momma would be so happy for me. ♥

HAPPY 100TH POST! (& VERY IMPORTANT NEWS!!!)

That's right.  This is my 100th post! Can y'all believe it? 99 posts have already been written! Here is the link to the first one in case y'all wanted to see it.  A lot has changed, obviously.   The most important one, I believe is how much I've grown as a person. Seriously, if I knew then what I know now, then I'd be a really smart 18 year-old.  Haha. Seriously, though, it's insane how much you grow in a year, or in this case, in 100 blog posts.

So for the news of this week.  List? Yeah, I think it's my style, it helps me keep organized.

-FINALS are done!!!! I'm done with my third semester of college! I still get this feeling sometimes (since thursday 3:25ish) that I need to study for something. I definitely don't! Woohoo!
-Work was very stressful today.  My boss' mom isn't doing well.  Please pray for them. <3 Thank you.  Pray for her to comforted by God and our love (co-workers, friends, family).
-I'm doing very well in the "trying new things" department.  It's pretty amazing. My momma would be proud.
-I volunteered with Susan G. Komen today at this Breast Cancer Symposium in my city.  It was FANTASTIC! I loved helping out and meeting people from all over the world.  Singapore, United Kingdom, (I heard British accents!!!!) California, Venezuela, NEW YORK!, Italy (I need to tell y'all something later concerning Italy, BIG NEWS!), and many other places.  It was so rewarding and I loved talking with the ladies there, the ones at the booth where I volunteered.  I look forward to volunteering with them in the future!
-Acting final was super fun! Caity and I were nervous right after we performed it because we were the first ones and you know, it was the FINAL but we got amazing feedback!!! I really love theatre.  It makes me happy.  I always feel better leaving that class.  I'm gonna miss it tons.  Next theatre class up: Intro to Technical Production, where unfortunately there is no performing :( Oh well, until Fall 2012 for…INTERMEDIATE ACTING! I'm super excited for that one.
-I will miss Country Western Dance :( It was a very fun class.  I miss dancing.  Boo.  Hopefully, I will get to use my awesome dancing skills soon though.  Haha. But seriously.
-One of the other classes I will miss is Italian, I will be taking Italian next semester, so it will be okay.
✭✮✯So, some of y'all may have forgotten the Italy thing I mentioned above ↑ (way up there) and some of y'all maybe didn't but here it is….WAIT FOR IT…WAIT….so…I'm 83% sure I'm going to study abroad in Italy during the Spring of 2013!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is that amazing/wonderful/magnificent or what? It all started when I was talking to my Italian teacher, who was also my Spanish teacher in high school. I don't remember how we got to it but we started talking about studying abroad.  My scene partner and I were the last ones there after everyone (including ourselves) finished finals.  We all started talking about stuff and my teacher started talking about studying abroad in Italy.  I've always been the one to dismiss the idea because I always wanted to be here, different priorities you know? Now, though, everything has changed. It was nice to talk to her about it, she mentioned how learning Italian would be good for me in Italy.  (Rome, exactly).  She gave me a few compliments and made my week, seriously! I love Italian and to hear compliments about it is amazing.  Anyway, I talked with Alanna, study abroad information guru and I got lots of information.  Long story short, the opportunity is incredible.  When talking with Alanna, I still was 50-50 on it but now, I've visited the website like 2039480348 times and keep planning everything.  I am still worried about a few things but, y'all, wouldn't it be amazing? Or wait Amyzing? (My new nickname! Haha, thanks Mickey!) Well, anyway, please cross your fingers for everything to work out (especially financially).
-I feel I've been rambling but this was major news so it needed to be shared.
-I wish y'all good luck on finals! Almost there!
✭✮✯Whoa, before I forget, SIGNS.  The conversation with my Italian/Spanish teacher happened Wednesday and I got so many signs that day and some yesterday and one today.  If you know me, you know how I'm very big on signs.  I've seen two stockings with my mom's name on them in different restaurants, I see them as signs from my mom telling me she's okay.  So on Wednesdays I had two salads.  One, at this Starbucks on campus, weird, yeah, anyway, THE ONLY DRESSING THEY HAD WAS ITALIAN DRESSING.  Hello! Sign! Later that night, Katie and I went to a restaurant and they gave me ITALIAN DRESSING!!!  We saw videos in my Video Production class and they mentioned Italians and the Jersey Shore, but the focus was on the ITALIANS, it was about online dating and the risks or whatever (it was comedic) and one of them was supposed to be Italian!  Yesterday, when I talked to Alanna she gave me names of people that went there or are there right now.  The names ALFONSO and CASEY have meaning because my mom almost married an Alfonso (her true love) and Casey (pronounced like a "k") was my mom's assumed nickname for me, my middle name is Cassandra and she thought people would call me Casey.  So bam! signs!  Last night, I was on Pinterest looking at pictures of Rome when I saw this one right above.  "GO TO ROME"? I mean, come on! It's a sign!  Today, at the Symposium, TWO ITALIAN MEN came to our booth and even spoke a bit of Italian, it was hard to hear because they weren't speaking loudly but it was something about research.
-So, there you have it.  Signs. Pretty important to me.  Haha.   Momma would be proud of me for everything that happened this week.  So much, I can't even write it in here.  I'm loving these signs too!
-IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS!!!!!! ♥

Saturday, December 3

Lots of catching up!

Yum!
So I've experienced the typical college thing of not having enough time, which is why I have not been able to blog for a while. With that being said, there's a lot to catch up on! List time again!

-Thanksgiving wasn't that bad. It was kinda nice, we played Mexican Train game with my aunt's and uncle's neighbors and their family.  I did have a baby meltdown before but it was fine, I moved on.
-Finals are next week! I'm a bit stressed but thankful everything else in my life is okay.
-We have our Fall Concert this Sunday.  (Choir) I'm a bit worried about it because it's my first concert without her.  I really miss her guys.  It's difficult sometimes to explain the pain I feel when it really hurts but I guess I'm doing fine.
-I got some stuff from these two stores and they are amazing!
-I'm trying a lot of new things lately, it's pretty wonderful to be able to do stuff spontaneously.  For example, this week alone, I went to a workshop with this advertising company, I went to a dress rehearsal of my school's production of A Christmas Carol and a friend's wedding after party thing (we're in Italian together and we did this amazing oral exam and made a video and everyone laughed, it was magnificent!).  Everything was pretty much spur of the moment kind of thing! It was nice.
-I know y'all have been drooling over the picture of Tiramisu.  Today some of my friends and I went to this one restaurant (it was amazing!) and my friend got Tiramisu and we shared a bit! Fact: I don't like sweets.  Desert.  Chocolate.  None of it.  But, Tiramisu is one of those things that are just TO DIE FOR! Seriously, it's amazing! If you haven't tried it, I strongly recommend it!
-My friend let me borrow his copy of 500 Days of Summer and OH MY GOODNESS! So adorable, sweet, and fantastic! I loved it! I strongly recommend this movie! I mean, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel? Yeah, so wonderful!
-We moved out of the "new apt".  It was pretty difficult because I kept on thinking about all the things that didn't happen.  All the opportunities we had that aren't needed or going to be used anymore.  It's been a bit over two months and there are still moments when I think she's still alive.  Not gonna lie, it sucks.
-The other day I wanted to get an extra copy of my ad for my WFTM class and I thought in my head "Yeah, get another one so you can show your mom".  Then I stopped myself because obviously, it's not true.
-I feel like she's happy though, you know? She's seeing me live my life and learn things on my own.  I make decisions, I make plans and most importantly, I plan about New York and my future.  <3
-Today I saw two tarantulas! YES, MY FRIENDS, that's right.  TWO!!!!!! If you know me, you know I'm not a fan of insects, bugs, etc.  I mean, butterflies scare me! That's how weird this phobia is for me so it was amazing I didn't run screaming!  I was thrown off by the first one though.  That's for sure.
-I feel like I'm missing stuff but I got the highlights.  I wanted to add more pictures but it isn't working.  Oh well, maybe next time!

Happy last week of school for my fellow peeps! Haha. Just kidding.

6.

[6 Places]

1. New York, New York.  Love this city.  Love it.  When I went there during my sophomore year I fell in love with it even more.  I cannot even describe to you my love for this city, it's insane.  I cried when we got back on the bus to come back home.  I love the people, the methods of transportation, the food, the city in general.  Oh dear, I love NY.

2.  Target.  I know this is more local and it's not a city but I love love love Target.  I know I'm not the only one with this problem, but every single time I go there to get something small I end up getting like 5 times the amount of stuff I intended to get. I love that place!!!

3.  London, England.  I want to go there because I love their accents. I know, that sounds really dumb but what can I say? I love it.  I also love the history there and I would love to experience a different culture.

4.  Paris, France.  I want to go there because I want to see the Eiffel Tower and many more attractions there.  I would also love to experience the culture and hear true French-speakers speaking French.
5. Italy.  Pretty much anywhere in Italy.  I want to go there.  I'm currently learning Italian because I love the language and Italians seem very friendly and welcoming so I would love to be able to go to Italy and interact with Italians.

6.  Greece.  Anywhere in Greece.  I want to go to visit because I love their food and music.  I want to experience the culture and just see Greece.

Random: It's been exactly 1 year today that my mom and I got in the car accident that caused my mom's humerus fracture.  Since that day, things have been pretty crazy.  Please pray that my mom will get chemo this coming tuesday and that things get better and we figure everything out.

How I Miss You So

One of my favorite things in the world to do is watch movies from the late 80s/90s/early 2000s.  I wanted to share two.  I recently saw one of them and it reminded me how much I loved it. The other one just popped into my head because it might be my favorite one in the entire world.

First one: What Women Want
[It's not Oscar-worthy or anything like that but after watching it you just feel warm and fuzzy you know?  I guess it's just a typical chick flick but what's wrong with that?]

It's wonderful. I love it so much.  :)
I love the apartment she buys in the movie.

I love the dark wood in his apartment (in the movie).

I also love where Nick (Gibson) works.  It's so pretty!

Here is the other one: One Fine Day
[I love this one because I've seen it so many times and yet I never get tired of it.  It's so sweet.  I also love the kids in this one.  *The little girl is Mae Whitman, from PARENTHOOD, one of my favorite television shows!* I just love this movie, I love everything about it.]

THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!

I'm loving the ginormous cell phone.

I think here they are running towards Bethesda Fountain.  :)

Other news: We are looking for an apartment.  My mom starts the new chemo thursday.  I'm about halfway done with my summer class.  Things are crazy.  Please pray.

I hope you enjoyed this pretty positive blog post.  :)))

Start spreading the news...

Carnegie Hall with my high school orchestra ♥
I wanted to blog yesterday but things were too crazy so I decided I would do it today.  Three years ago, yesterday, I was in New York City with my high school orchestra and we played in THE ONE AND ONLY CARNEGIE HALL! Yeah, it was pretty amazing! The experience was unforgettable.  I remember warming up and just feeling the awesomeness of the place, it was just this vibe that I felt.  I know, I know, it was oh so amazing! We had a standing ovation and all the parents that chaperoned where definitely emotional, I know my mom was, it was a beautiful moment. :)

GOOD MORNING AMERICA
The trip was amazing and it was really when I fell in love with New York.  I had been wanting to go to NY since seventh grade so it was a GINORMOUS deal! We went to the typical touristy places but, for me, they were wonderful. Planet Hollywood, Broadway (Lion King and Phantom of the Opera), Statue of Liberty, Chinatown, Times Square, Top of the Rock, etc. My mom, my friend Amber and I (on our free day) went to Lincoln Center, Rockefeller Center and Juilliard!!!!!! It was the trip of a lifetime and I sure miss being there.
I'll leave y'all with this beauty ↓ I know that one day my mom and I will be back and it will bring even better memories than last time!

Reminded me of a scene from one of my favorite movies: One Fine Day

*Amy fact: I am in love with the city of New York (as well as my hometown, but also New York).  I wish to move there to pursue my career in television producing.  One, if not my favorite, song is New York New York by Frank Sinatra.  Yeah. I  ♥ New York !  *

Thanks for reading.  Keep praying for my momma! Thank y'all!

Friday, February 4

So here it goes

Okay so here are some important things that happened this week:
-I found out that I made the Dean's List!!!! :)))) Yey!
-I got a B+ on my History of Christianity Test, eh, 88, it was the first one, so I'm hoping the next test will be better.
-I got a 98 on my Anatomy Test!!!!( Which was major, because I am not a big science person and I usually find it super confusing, so yeyy! and plus I was superrrrrrr nervous about it.) Yey!
In the wee hours of the morning
-It semi-snowed where I live, which is not common at all! So of course, like a complete dork I took pictures.  It snowed/iced? in the wee hours of the morning and my mom wakes up during the night so she woke me up to look outside so to the left are a couple of pics :)

Okay so here is where it gets a little depressing, but nothing super bad, don't worry.

Later on in the morning
-I had another cancer-related nightmare: Okay so there are only four stages of cancer and my mom is in the fourth stage.  In my dream, my mom was in the 67th stage, which now that I think of it is kind of semi funny because it's so dumb, there are only four stages.  Anyway, I am fine now, so it's okay. :)
-My mom started losing her hair.  This is the third time that she's undergone chemo so we kind of know the whole process, but somehow it doesn't make it any better or easier....but we are hanging in there and watching funny television shows and thinking positively.  (There's this new television show: Seriously Funny Kids with Heidi Klum and it's super funny!)

-It's finally February! Yey!
-My mom and I are going to watch my old high school's performance of the Sound of Music this coming week, so we're excited :)

So maybe it's because I've learned some more things about my mom's disease in Anatomy but I wanted to write about how my mom was diagnosed.  I will try to keep it short but I really wanted to write about it in this post.

My mom used to be a radiology transcriptionist, she used to work close to 80 hours a week.  She is the head of the household, no padre in this house, but that's a different story.  Anyway, so my mom never wanted to miss work to go to the doctor's unless she absolutely had to because that meant losing money. This was back when I was in high school, although she has always worked A WHOLE LOT, but this was close to when she was diagnosed.

January 2008 is really when it all went downhill, my mom and I got sick that month, she had pneumonia and I had bronchitis, we weren't the kind of people to miss anything just because we had the sniffles, so this really set us back because we had to stay at home and take it easy.  February, I don't really remember to much of, my mom and I thought that she had broken her ribs because of all the chaos of pneumonia, but we didn't think too much of it.  March was the month that my orchestra was going to go to New York and play at THE ONE AND ONLY....CARNEGIE HALL, so my mom and I were super busy with getting everything ready.  (So a little thing you may want to know about me: I have been in love with New York since the 7th grade, I had been wanting to go there since then, so this trip was HUGE! and plus it was CARNEGIE HALL, you know?) The New York trip was one trip I will never forget, I guess you could say it was the best of times, it was the worst of times.  Best: Hello, New York! Worst: My mom started having random pains in her ribs, spine and sternum.  April was when my mom got shingles (painful adult chicken pox) and had a birthday.  May was when my jaw popped out while eating a hot dog for breakfast (yeah, it's okay to laugh, it's funny to think about it now) and I had birthday.  April and May my mom went to the doctor's more and had scans because her pain in her ribs, spine and sternum was getting worse and worse.  They thought she had arthritis, they didn't really make anything of it, so she was going through different options for pain management.  It was until the weekend after my birthday in late May that my aunt drove us to the hospital because my mom couldn't sleep because she could hardly breathe and the pain prevented her from doing a lot of things.  This was around the time I was having finals my sophomore year of high school.  My mom stayed in the hospital for two weeks and was diagnosed with Stage IV Breast Cancer during that time.  Her primary (where the cancer cells originated) was in the breast, it was Stage IV because the cells had spread to her ribs, spine and sternum.  She started chemo in the hospital.

(Okay so from when I started talking about May and the stuff that happened around then, I started trying to speed it up. I want to divide this up into a few blogs so it's easier to read so I will continue with it later)

I will try and finish this up this weekend.

Thanks for reading.  Hope to write more soon!

My love

I love my Yankees :]
I absolutely love this weather! I just got this new NEW YORK YANKEES scarf! I love it!  It's weird because today was the last "regular" day in like 5 out of my 6 classes! My freshman year in college is almost halfway over! Isn't that crazy? Today was really nice because Chorale (choir) was fun! I have been figuring out these media projects more and more (which is totally making me feel smart haha)

My mom's right arm has been hurting her lately, well actually since yesterday, I don't know part of me is worried, but I keep praying that she'll be okay.  I wanted to start writing back in this blog because I noticed that I only wrote 6 posts in November which bugs me because the other months I had like 8, I know that's weird, anyway, I'll try to write more.

Parenthood wasn't on last night :[ but....Grey's Anatomy is on tomorrow!!! :]

P.S. I will be having my first official choir concert on Sunday!!!!

Thanks for reading this totally random blog!

Better Days

So my mom had her CT scan on thursday at the place that she usually gets them done, (that's where she used to work at, so it's nice that we know people there) and then yesterday (friday) she had her bone scan.  The CT scan and her labs were about the same, we won't get the results soon but I pray that she'll be okay, but the same kind of helpless feeling that I get every now and then came back because they had to stick her with needles for her lab and for the CT, the main problem is that her good veins are on her right arm (which is broken from the car accident) so they have been sticking her with needles on her left HAND, which is wayyyy more painful than in the arm, it just sucks, you know? But we were home by noon-ish so we took a very long nap :] (I had fall break from thursday to friday, which was perfect so she could get the scans done.)  So friday was much much better, we thought that she would have to drink this terrible well, drink/contrast for her scan that makes her sick, but they ended up just needing to stick her.  At first, I was just like God, seriously? She just got poked yesterday and she was in tremendous pain, really? Are you really gonna do this again? But then...the lady that injected the contrast was very sweet and my mom was hardly in any pain.  I saw it as God's way of saying "Don't worry Amy, trust me, everything's going to be okay." So it made the both of us feel better.  Oh and the place where she got her bone scan is not the usual place that she goes to get her stuff done so we were trying to figure out what to do with the 3 hours or so that she had to wait for the contrast thingy to get all radiated in her body, so we went outside, close to the cafeteria and we relaxed, it was nice.  Oooh, btw, I am totally obsessed with Grey's Anatomy, and the hospital where they work is a teaching hospital, just like the one we went to, so we saw interns, which totally reminded me of Grey's Anatomy! :]

I know that was really long but I really wanted to write about it.  Oh, also, my intro to mass comm arts teacher (the one in the car accident) suffered minor injuries, I think she might be back at school on monday. So yey! I'm glad that she wasn't severely injured.

My mom and I are trying to stay positive and are even starting to think about moving to New York again, I have a strong feeling in me that just assures me that we'll be there soon, just walking around in Central Park, just thinking to ourselves "we survived".

P.S. We got a new cable box because ours was apparently really old, haha, and it's really nice, we even got new remote controls! Yepee! :]

Okay, sorry about this post being so long, this week was just so busyy!
Ciao!
Please pray for my mommy and aunt.
Thanks!

I love the smell of fall

So my mom and I have been taking the bus more.  I actually kind of like it.  1: Because it reminds me of New York and the subway :] and 2: Because we get to interact with different people.  We will start to look for cars soon because we live in a big city and we need a car.  (I'll keep you updated)

It's really weird because lately I've been having a lot of dreams.  My mom and I have this dream decoder book (I guess that's what you could call it) and we looked up what some of our dreams mean.  So the other day I had this dream that I was in this ginormous choir and we were singing The Wizard of Oz song, like "We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of oz..." one and apparently it means that I will experience deep sadness, which made me really sad.  But...like a couple of days after that dream I had this other dream that I went to a big party, almost like Homecoming, and I danced a lot with a bunch of people and apparently it means that I will be very happy, or something to that effect, which made me feel better.  Ooooh and then (and this was one of my favorite dreams), I had a dream that I was a doctor on Grey's Anatomy! haha. The dream means that I am have good feelings or something like that, something good and sweet like that :].  Ohh and last night/this morning I had a dream that I worked for a grocery store and I stocked the shelves and increased sales on some chips (like Tostitos), yeah, that was an interesting dream. It's kind of nice though, having dreams every night and remembering them in the morning :]

Other than that, my mom and I are still trying to cope with the after effect of the accident.  Her arm is doing well, she isn't in as much pain as she was and emotionally, we are doing better.  We are just very stressed about trying to figure everything else out.  It's crazy how that one accident is still affecting us so much.  We are trying to think positively though and we thank God that we are doing okay.

Please keep praying for my mom and my aunt!

Where you lead I will follow

So I haven't posted a blog in almost a week and it's partly because of the amount of homework I had to catch up on and partly because it's been very hard dealing with everything after the accident.  I will just talk about the things that happened that pop into my head at the moment. Sorry for the scatter-ness.

So thursday of last week my mom and I took a cab and we had a really nice cab driver, he's a single dad with a daugther, he was very nice.  We have had other nice cab drivers also.

My mom and I are both very overwhelmed with everything.  I still find times where I just wanna break down and cry but then I think about how we are both okay and that we have each other and that's all that matters.  Also, I am choir (finally!) and singing has been helping get distracted and just have fun.  I am very glad I joined.

My mom and I took the bus today and it reminded me of New York .  I don't know how we are going to get around without a car at the moment but I pray that God will lead us.

This is kind of random...but on Monday I had my first college experience of a teacher talking to a student that wasn't doing his homework.  It was really interesting to watch, then they went outside and we could still hear them, and then they came back in and then the student left! It was so college!

I will try to post more often because I feel I'm leaving a whole lotta stuff out, eh.  Please pray for my mom and my aunt (my aunt will have heart surgery and lung surgery late October)!

Until next time.
