Bye Bye Y'all

Can I just point out how hard it is not say "y'all"?

Okay. Thank you. 

On December 29, only 10 days after getting married, Mickey and I started our trek to California.  So here's a little background information:

Mickey had/has some opportunities in California that weren't available in Texas.

We felt that if we didn't move right after we got married we wouldn't for at least one more year, if that.  We felt that we would settle and not go for our dreams. 

So, we decided to go for it. 

Mickey's dream is to make stuff. Movies, TV, everything. 

My dream is to be a talk show host.  Like a blend of Ellen, Oprah and Jimmy Fallon. 

But me.

I understand just how insane and unrealistic that sounds but I read once that if your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough and it kinda stuck with me. 

So, we got married on the 19th of December.  

Left for our honeymoon in New York on the 20th. 

Came back from our honeymoon on Christmas.

Packed up [most of] our lives into my little KIA Soul.

We cleared out Mickey's room, my room and my storage unit that stored mine and my mom's entire lives.

We had a tremendous amount of help from my aunt and uncle and Mickey's dad, uncles and aunt were so helpful getting everything out.  

It is true, you never realize how much stuff you have until you try to move. 

We said bye to our best friends. 

Deidra and Sam. 

It was hard. 

I cried. 

We had dinner with Deidra and we had breakfast the next day with Sam. 

 To say that these people have been there during the hardest times of our lives would be a severe understatement. 

When I was in the process of losing my mom, Deidra was there.  When Mickey was losing his, Sam was there. 

They've been there for us during our absolute lowest points and we were so grateful to have them there for the best day of our lives. Deidra was my Made of Honor and Sam was Mickey's Best Man. 

If you guys are reading this, thank you both for being there for us.  Thank you for listening to us and for talking to us and being total dorks with us. We're so glad we met you when we did. How crazy is it that we both met you guys in 9th grade?  

We miss you so very much but know that we'll keep in touch. 

Duh.

One of the weirdest parts was the morning of the 29th.  We were going to leave pretty early but we decided to stay a little bit so we could go to Jim's and have breakfast with Mickey's dad, his uncle and his girlfriend. 

We stuffed our faces and then it was time to start driving away.  

We had said our goodbyes to my aunt and uncle, which felt totally weird. 

It didn't feel like we were really leaving. 

We had said goodbye to our best friends. 

We then had to say bye and start driving away.  Not to Mickey's house. Not to a restaurant where we would meet them later. No.  We had to start driving to a whole different state.  We hugged goodbye and we got into the fully-packed car. We clicked our seatbelts and that's when it hit me. I turned to Mickey and asked: 

"So, do we start crying now or later?"

We laughed a scared, yet excited laugh. 

And so we started driving. 

If we didn't get to personally say goodbye to you, thank you for your support and help. 

Thank you for being there for us. 

Thank you being our friends, our mentors and our family. 

Thank you.

Once again, thank you to everyone that helped us in any way with the move. 

We couldn't have done without you!

I'm back!

This happened!

Mickey and I got married on 

December 19, 2015. 

We moved to California on

December 31, 2015. 

And we are THIS close to being

 in our own place just 15 minutes outside of Burbank.

Nice to be back!

We're Growing Up Part I.

And this has for sure been the longest hiatus I've taken from blogging.
Lots happened.
Wonderful things.
And some not so much.
Here is my life summed up in pictures and words!

AUGUST.

OMG. JAMES MARSTERS.  

Well, there was Comic Con! Ahh! We had a blast and we met tons of celebrities! (Not all are pictured because I look weird, in some of them, haha).  We got a three-day pass because the moment we found out James Marsters was going to be there (Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, aka my favorite vampire EVER) we knew we had to go and experience it all! So we did. #NoRegrets.  I was completely starstruck by James Marsters.  I lost my cool and I just stood there.  Mickey had a conversation with him and the whole shabang and I just stood there.  Haha.  I got a hug from him and I kept thinking "Oh my goodness, it's Spike!" We kept swinging by his booth every day and then I got a video with him where he pretended to bite me.  Haha!

Mickey has told me this several times and I completely agree with him.  He says that he would rather spend money on experiences rather than money.  I mean, of course, there are exceptions but as a whole, this is a good rule to stick to.

We spent lots of time with Buddy, his dog.  Here Mickey is pictured with Buddy.  They're having a stare-down and I'm pretty sure Mickey won.  Haha.  They actually just had one not too long ago.  They're so adorable.

Our first baseball game together!! 

SEPTEMBER.

We started working on our Kickstarter to raise money for a movie that we're currently in the process of filming! It was pretty cool! We filmed a video with all the information people needed to donate! 

I was busy with work as well.  Between flooring, prompting and editing, I was learning a lot! I was still getting used to working mornings and going to sleep early, waking up early and getting out early.  Now, I'm happy to say, I'm doing a bit better.  That first month I was working mornings was interesting because there is such a difference working mornings and opposed to working nightside and I was thrilled to be learning so much! Woohoo! Everybody was so helpful too and I got to meet more well-known people, including Jesse Borrego (pictured below).

September 26 marked three years since I lost my mom and it was just insane to me that it had been that long since I had lost her.  I know my mom would be so proud and happy that I'm working at a television station.  I'm not doing what I want to be doing, yet, but I'm learning so much along the way and I've grown so much.  I know she's happy and watching over me and that makes me feel safe.

Mickey helped a lot and I know that together we can help each other through anything.
During September we continued nurturing our love for movies and we watched Gone Girl!  Oh my goodness! It was good! These were our faces before watching it.  Mickey was excited and I was a tad bit scared because of everything I'd heard about it! 

Our third Comic Con together!! 

And then there was this picture.  Jessica and I wore the same kind of 

stripes at the same time, so a picture was a must! The following week,

 Kimberly and I both wore leopard print so we also took a picture. 

OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER.

That's Sick Yo

Buddy was helpful too. :)

That was me yesterday.  

I was as sick as a dog. 

What does that even mean really? "Sick as a dog" 

When dogs get sick do they get super sick? Or do they get sick frequently?

Anyway, I was not feeling my best and it kinda just hit me.  

I'm not the kind of person to get sick frequently but when I get sick it's not a little sniffle here or there, it can get pretty intense and yesterday was no exception. 

It's crazy how much being sick takes out of you. 

 Gatorade and Pepto Bismol became my best friends for yesterday.

It was funny because the jingle from those Pepto Bismol commercials popped into my head and I proceeded to sing along to the tune in my head.

I must have seemed a little psychotic because Mickey had to stop me from singing so I could rest. 

Thank you Mickey for taking care of me and for all of your help. 

It's crazy how me getting sick just kind of happened out of nowhere

 to the point where I couldn't really move. 

Needless to say, with some TLC I'm now at 98% and ready for tomorrow! 

Again, thank you Mickey for your help (and for your parents help).  

Today was spent relaxing and watching Breaking Bad, Non-Stop with Liam Neeson, and FRIENDS. :)

Crackers were my main choice of food today.  

I broke up with food yesterday and we're taking things slowly.  I'm sure we'll be back to normal tomorrow. Haha.

And then I was pleasantly greeted by these when I got back to my room. :)

Hiatus Ends!

This has by far been the longest hiatus I've had from blogging.  Partly because my laptop charger decided to not cooperate and partly because everything's been super busy to write here.  Needless to say, I'm freakishly stoked to share stuff that's occurred since I lost blogged! I will do those through pictures and words! My best friend graduated from college! She teased me after graduating a semester early saying that I was abandoning her and so it was so exciting to see her graduate through live-stream! Next up, Med School! So proud of you Deidra!

I turned 22! I had made it a goal for myself to go to Forever 21 on my birthday eve, like later in the evening, and purchasing something from Forever 21 because it would be symbolic about always somehow being Forever 21. Mickey liked my idea and so we went and I purchased a necklace!

 My birthday celebration started as soon as I got off from work on my birthday eve.  Deidra and Mickey surprised me at the chapel (work), Forever 21 purchase was made and then we headed to PF Changs! YUM.  We stuffed our faces then went to Mickey's house and sang karaoke! I spent the night at Deidra's and proceeded to celebrate on my birthday day! We went to Olive Garden and went bowling! It was an enjoyable weekend and I'm enjoying being 22, so far so good. :)

 Mickey and I went mini-golfing for the first time together! We've been separately but in the two years we've been together, we'd never gone and so we, of course, had to change that.

He beat my score by four points…

I got a few holes-in-one! Woohoo!

I've been spending time with my favorite puppy! Although Buddy's now 28! He's finally older than us! He got a haircut earlier this summer and it's starting to grow out! This little guy is so adorable!

Last, but certainly not least, I've moved to a different schedule! This was my dream since I started interning as a Lifestyle & Entertainment Intern and I'm so excited that I'm lucky enough to start this coming week! I've been trained as a fill-in editor and I'll be continuing being a Production Assistant! I love the morning show because there's so much to learn and it's in constant motion! I'm so excited to continue my journey at FOX. It's crazy to believe I've been working there for about six months now! Where does the time go? 

There are a few things that are missing but I will be sure to keep y'all updated more frequently!
