That's Sick Yo

Buddy was helpful too. :)
That was me yesterday.
I was as sick as a dog.
What does that even mean really? "Sick as a dog"
When dogs get sick do they get super sick? Or do they get sick frequently?
Anyway, I was not feeling my best and it kinda just hit me.
I'm not the kind of person to get sick frequently but when I get sick it's not a little sniffle here or there, it can get pretty intense and yesterday was no exception.
It's crazy how much being sick takes out of you.
Gatorade and Pepto Bismol became my best friends for yesterday.
It was funny because the jingle from those Pepto Bismol commercials popped into my head and I proceeded to sing along to the tune in my head.
I must have seemed a little psychotic because Mickey had to stop me from singing so I could rest.
Thank you Mickey for taking care of me and for all of your help.
It's crazy how me getting sick just kind of happened out of nowhere
to the point where I couldn't really move.
Needless to say, with some TLC I'm now at 98% and ready for tomorrow!
Again, thank you Mickey for your help (and for your parents help).

Today was spent relaxing and watching Breaking Bad, Non-Stop with Liam Neeson, and FRIENDS. :)
Crackers were my main choice of food today.
I broke up with food yesterday and we're taking things slowly.  I'm sure we'll be back to normal tomorrow. Haha.

And then I was pleasantly greeted by these when I got back to my room. :)
Thank you Aunt Estelle and Uncle Bill!
Hope y'all have had a fantastic weekend!

L.O.V.E.

Mickey and I celebrated our second Valentine's Day together!!
Let's just start by saying this is our first one since graduation and it was amazing!!
We didn't have to worry about classes or homework!
Last year, as some of you may remember, didn't go as planned.  A teacher kept us all class period after saying she wouldn't and so our plans were changed but we went with the flow and ended up at Applebee's.  Well, my friends, no teacher stood in our way this year!

I woke up at like 9:30am to make sure I was ready to go at a reasonable time.
I had the hardest time going to sleep the night before because I was so freaking excited!
I didn't tell Mickey I was waking up earlier than usual (it was a secret!)

I started getting ready and then he texted me later saying he was waking up.  I lied to him and pretended I was still semi-asleep.  LIE! I had taken a shower, gotten my stuff together and was fixing my hair! :)

I surprised him at his house at around 11:30am!
We exchanged presents and it was so cute because he's just so adorable when he gives me presents, we both love to look at one another when we open presents.
He gave me a dozen red roses, an Imagine poster, two Celine Dion CDs, and a card with a poem in it.  (heart melted)
I gave him a teddy bear (inside joke), a stuffed animal, gum (inside joke), a Starbucks gift card and a card with a letter in it.
:)
I then showed him my hair! (Inspired by Pinterest!
Then I hugged Buddy, his labradoodle and proceeded to take these two pictures.

Buddy wanted a valentine of his own. :(
We then continued with our plans of going on a picnic for lunch.
We started walking and decided to stop a bit sooner than planned because we were so excited to eat.  #fatties #justkidding #butseriously
I sat on the Minnie side and he sat on the blue side.
Food present:
2 sandwiches. Life Cinnamon Cereal. Lay's Sour Cream & Onion Chips.
Welch's Fruit Snacks. Chicken Pot Pie Soup. Marshmallows. YUM!
We realized we were matching! We both wore red and blue! He wore a
striped shirt and I wore a heart dress.  Great minds think alike!
It was so much fun! We both don't really care for being outside but it was delightful and
we were under a shade and no bugs got in our food! Yay!

We then walked back to Mickey's house and watched He's Just Not That Into You! My mom and I had seen that movie a while ago and we loved it.  I told Mickey about it and when

we were deciding what to do on Valentine's Day I brought this movie up!
 It was just perfect!

We watched it while enjoying a bag of popcorn and some yogurt!
Oh and we came to the realization that I'm very much like

Ginnifer Goodwin's character, Gigi.
From how she acted and what she wore.  OMG.  It was crazy. Oh and need I

mention her's and Justin Long's relationship in the movie? Ahh.  It was cool.  :)
Lastly, we got ready for the last part of our Valentine's Day-dinner. We changed and
everything. We went to Olive Garden.  The one we wanted to go to didn't
take reservations so we knew we'd be waiting a while, so we went before we
started getting hungry. We got there and waited about 45 minutes, which didn't
feel long at all! We talked outside, it was beautiful.
We were called just as we started getting super hungry.  Perfect timing!
We ate breadsticks, that freakishly amazing Chicken & Gnocchi soup, we had

an appetizer (calamari and beef and pork ravioli!), Mickey got the Tour de Italy
and I got Chicken Alfredo with whole wheat pasta, and Tiramisu! YUM!
We didn't finish our actual entrees to save room for dessert and it was so worth it!
This picture obviously does not do it justice.

We listened to one of the Celine Dion CDs, some Beyonce and  L.O.V.E. by Nat King Cole
and some Frank Sinatra! This guy knows how to make me swoon over him! ;)

We went back to his house and then watched the Valentine's Day episode of Buffy.  :)
His parents helped us with pictures, see below.  This was the best one.
And there you have it.  Our second Valentine's Day together.  It was my favorite Valentine's yet!

Thank you Mickey for making me the happiest girl in the world and giving me fuzzies and butterflies.  You make my heart melt more and more everyday and I'm so blessed to be a part of your life.  Here's to many more Valentine's Days together!!
I love you Mickey!

                                                                                                                       -Your Minnie ❤️

I have a BA!

The best perk of graduating in the fall at my university: the lights!
{From the night before graduation, Baccalaureate Mass on campus!}

Mickey and I still can't believe we graduated from college! I mean…COLLEGE! It's a pretty big deal! We graduated in the same place as I graduated from high school! I was very emotional that morning because I was angry at the fact that my mom wasn't there.  Then I stopped and tried to calm down once I saw Mickey and asked for God's guidance.  I knew that my mom wouldn't be there rooting for me in the stands physically but even better, she was there with a great seat rooting for me spiritually.  I felt her presence as I walked in the coliseum and I could hear her voice and I couldn't help but smile and look in awe at the amount of people there.  It was so surreal, the bagpipes were being played, I got goosebumps and got teary-eyed and got chills (and not just because it was one of the colder days here in the south).  We passed by teachers and I saw one of my favorites (whom we had just seen prior to lining up!) I kept thinking "Oh my God, I can't believe this is happening."

I'll rewind a bit.  I woke up feeling weird because I couldn't believe it was my college graduation day.     I felt a bit frustrated with the fact that I was so sad and angry that my mom wouldn't be there but it all slowly started improving when I saw Mickey.  I met him at his house and we finished getting ready and then left for the coliseum!

We got there and started getting in line and finding our fellow Comm Arts friends and we started taking pictures, laughing, and talking.  Mickey and I went outside for a bit because he was going to leave something in my car when I saw one of our favorite teachers! We screamed, he heard us, we got excited, we took a picture and we all had to leave.  It was so amazing that we got to see him because things had gotten so crazy that it was hard to visit him that last semester! We were literally running and screaming his name then we caught up with him and he turned around,
it was like something out of the movies.

Best theater teacher ever! He's told us he has officially adopted us.  We couldn't be happier! ;)
Then Mickey and I went back inside and came to the realization we were going to graduate together.  It was amazing.  We couldn't believe this was all happening.  We then proceeded to take this picture.

#collegesweethearts
We started lining up and after a while it was our turn to walk into the coliseum!
(Read top paragraph for details).

Next thing we know, bam. We're walking the freaking stage.  But, prior to that, after three hours of waiting for our turn, I realized even the few sips of water was too much for my little body to handle and I ran to the restroom a couple minutes before I walked the stage! (Too much info?)

I heard Mickey's name being called first and I screamed for my darling! Then it was my turn and I found some people I had invited there rooting for me and then I stood there waiting for my name to be called.  I looked out onto everybody there and took a deep breath.  This was it.  I was about to graduate from college.  I knew my mom was bawling her eyes out and cheering like nobody's business.  I was stoked.

"Amy C. …"
that was all I heard and everything got quiet in my head.

It was like I was dreaming.  I started walking the stage and smiled when I got the president of our university and shook his hand, got my pretend diploma, bam, picture, walked more, shook a strangers hand, bam, picture, walked down a ramp, bam, pose, picture, grabbed an alumni pin from some nice ladies, found somebody I had invited, bam, pose, picture, walked back to my seat and saw Mickey, gave each other a semi-high five and sat down.

OMG. I just graduated from college with my college sweetheart.

OMG. I have a B.A. in Communication Arts with a
Concentration in Production with a Minor in Theatre!

First generation. College Grad. Magna Cum Laude. Ahh!

Everything after that was awesome.  We took pictures and went to Chili's that night.  It was fantastic!

Reel-y Wonderful Internship

It's crazy to think that our internship is over.
It's also crazy to think I was there exactly 3 months.
May 28, 2013-August 28, 2013.
The OCD part in me is super happy about it being exactly three months.

I have to say though, saying goodbye was bittersweet.
Granted, there weren't that many people there and most of the interns had already left, but still, it was the end of a chapter and I couldn't help but feel sad.

Mickey and I followed JT most of the time and it was weird saying bye.
It's awesome, though, to think how much we learned in those three months.
I gained more confidence in myself and learned so much more than I thought I would.
I went inside a tattoo shop, I go-karted, I danced on the credits of another show, and Mickey and I were able to start another show from all the experience we had acquired during the internship.

I'm so freaking lucky to have had that internship and to have called FOX my second home.
It made me realize, even more, that working in television is something for me.

I also finished my new reel!
You can watch it HERE!

I am excited for what's to come!

The Beginning of the End.

Hello guys!
Since the last time I blogged here are a few things that have happened:

I've sold several wedding dresses
I've sold several bridesmaids dresses
I've gotten a haircut
I made Dean's list again! [for the 6th semester in a row]
Mickey and I started OFF BROADWAY
I've seen how to replace a flat tire, my flat tire
I've helped Mickey pack up for college for our last semester
I've helped pick out my cousin's bridal gown [at David's Bridal!]
I've continued interning at the station and rode a go-kart [and got whiplash]
I've had a meeting with my college tv station's other officers and we're ready for this semester!
I've been extremely busy but have had some fun

On with the new stuff.
Mickey and I will be starting our final semester of college TOMORROW.
It has hit me several times over the past week which causes me to randomly start crying.
Being a girl can be so emotionally tiring sometimes!
I was helping him pack up his stuff FOR THE LAST TIME!!!
His dorm is in this new building and it's brand spankin' new.  It's awesome.

I remember starting college.  I remember feeling weird because I didn't have class till 10:30! Was that okay? I always felt like I was skipping class because I wasn't on campus at 9am.
I had breaks between classes and it was so weird to me!
HERE is my first blog post.
& HERE is my second blog post where I mention a couple college things.

I started this blog to document me starting college and my mom's disease.
It was started almost three years ago! THREE!
It has slowly turned into a blog about all things college and life and love and learning to be an adult.

August 23 was my first day of college & also when I met Mickey. :)
August 25 was my first blog post.

Here I am, three years later about to finish my college career.
It's such a big deal guys!
I'm gonna graduate from college with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.
[with a concentration in Production and a minor in Theatre]
I will be a first generation college graduate.
I AM GOING TO GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE IN 111 DAYS!

I mean. My goodness.  I just can't believe it.
And I get to do it all with Mickey, my amazing boyfriend. Pretty much the first person I saw when I walked in to Intro to Mass Comm at 1:30pm on August 23.
It was my first Comm class so I was super excited!

I know that throughout this semester I will randomly burst in tears but I'm so excited for the future.
I started college with my mom and although I'm not finishing
my last semester with her here, I know she'd be super duper proud of me.
I have Mickey by my side as we finish out college strong and I'm so eager to see what happens!

Our last picture on campus before our last semester of college.
Pre-haircuts.

So, wish us luck as we start the beginning of the end.
AAAHH! I'M SO EXCITED!

Next up: Last first day of school!

You'll Love David's Bridal

Guess who has a second job again.
Yup.
This girl.

The last second job I had was with Cracker Barrel as a server.
Yikes.
It lasted six months but I had to quit because school was getting crazy.

Now, here I am again.
I have to say, I think I'm gonna like this second job much better than the last.
I learned SO MUCH from being a server.
Stuff that I'll keep with me forever but I feel I needed a new experience.

I applied to David's Bridal a while back and got called for a group interview.
It was uncharted territory for me.
By the end of the group interview, I had made people laugh and I was happy with that. :)

I was ecstatic to be called back for the second round of interviews.
This time they were to be with the manager of the store.
They got overbooked and we had to do group interviews again.
I was a pro by this time.
Haha. I kid.
They went very well. I told them about my OCD-ness.
My immense love for my New York Public Library Student Planner and Post-Its.
 They laughed.  Haha.

Sometime in between the second interview and the third interview
they said they would call our references.
My boss at my chapel, Saundra, was one of them.
She's been so supportive, especially as super busy wedding season has slowed down.

The last round of interviews was to be conducted over the phone with the head honcho in the area.
I was surprised by how short the interview was.

I was called and told the wonderful news on the 11th.
It was awesome!
I have never received a phone call telling me I got a job.
It was such a new experience.

I went in the next day to fill out paperwork.
Linda, the manager, concluded with shaking my hand and saying:
"Welcome to David's Bridal"
How cool! :)
So what will I be doing you ask?
Oh, you know, only helping brides pick out the most important dress of their lives
You can call me Amy, the Wedding Consultant.
Although here are just a few of my other titles:

Intern
College Senior
Assistant Wedding Coordinator
Entertainment Director (at my university)
Girlfriend to Mickey ;)
Aspiring television host. :)

I'm excited to start!
P.S. They never called Saundra. I was like... "Whaa?"
Maybe they didn't need my references?

Yay!

Sayonara Sixth Semester

I know it has taken me a long time to talk about this but I'm trying to get back into the writing flow.
So, here it goes guys, a review of the classes and the semester.

Advanced Acting
It was a very fun class.
I love the teacher, it's so sad because I won't have a class with him anymore.
I learned a lot about different styles of acting. It was awesome.
It was a hard class and getting an A- was pretty cool.

Writing the Script
It was also a very fun class.
I learned a lot about scripts and movies.
We watched so many movies that now, I feel I could talk to
Mickey more about movies (he's the movie guru)
I will be taking a class from this teacher again.  She's really sweet and she loves
Mickey and I being together. :)

Play Analysis
This was an okay class.
It was fun reading different plays but I didn't like taking quizzes from them every class.
It made me stressed and kinda sucked the fun out of reading them.
I am glad it's over.

TV Practicum
This is perhaps the class I learned most from.
We did lots of broadcasts and stories and I learned a lot.
I shot, I edited, I wrote, I anchored, I reporter, I interviewed.
It was amazing.
It was interesting because at the start of the semester I had it in my mind that I was going to be a television producer. I've thought that for about 4 years and that all changed this semester.
I found myself more interested in being in front of the camera and interviewing people in front of the camera.  I would get so excited and it would become the highlight of my day.  The best day was when I filled in for a girl that wasn't feeling well, it was seriously, the most fun I've had in a while. It was our first live broadcast EVER in the history of our TV station and I had a rush.
It was eye-opening.

So, I've decided to go for it.
I'm interning right now at a local television station and I'm learning all the inside scoop.
It's awesome!
My dream is to work on a daytime show, like a cousin of Ellen or Oprah.
I think going into Late Night would be amazing as well.
I want to start with morning shows.
So we'll see. :)

Anyway, this class was definitely life-changing.

Law and the Media
It was difficult.
Teacher was nice.
Glad it's over.

Producing and Directing
Teacher was very scattered.
Class was okay.
I did a short film, it's fantastic!
Glad the class is over.

So there you have it.
My sixth semester.

Next up:
Final semester of college which starts in 81 days
Then college graduation in approx. 191 days.
I'll be taking:
Senior Portfolio
Seminar in Film: Spanish Language Films
Creativity in the Arts
Internship (I'm hoping to get another internship in the fall with the same TV station)
The United States to 1865

AND I'll be the Entertainment Director for our college TV station!!!

I'm über excited!

Rose.

Hello guys.
Too much has happened so I've decided to split up my posts.
1. School ending/year in review
2. New York trip
3. Birthday
4. First day at internship

But before all of that, I'm sad to share some news with y'all.

I hadn't talked about these sweet darlings on here because I wanted to share very exciting information and things just got too crazy but here it goes.

Around the end of April, about the 24th, Mickey and I were introduced to some lovely little animals.

I heard there cries from around the corner of the office.  Mickey was doing his monologue from class and I was sitting outside.  I looked into the office to see a few teachers crowded around these adorable kittens. It turns out they had been left outside one of the teacher's patios.

We offered to take care of them for a few hours.  We ran into several obstacles as animals aren't allowed on campus and then we gave the kittens back to the teacher.  We had our radio show and then were called by her.  She couldn't take care of them, so we offered to take care of them.

I remember it like it was yesterday, we got to Mickey's house and we told his parents there were three kittens, I think he failed to mention the exact number, needless to say, his parents were surprised.  His labradoodle, Buddy, was interested in these guys.

We encountered lots of obstacles along the way and became like parents to these kittens.  We got excited when they started purring, when they started drinking from the bottle and eating solid food.

From left to right: Rose, David and Charlie.

It was funny because we named them pretty quickly and we didn't understand exactly how to figure out their gender, except for Rose, we always knew she was a girl.

We knew that taking care of the three kittens and Buddy would be too much so we started to think of people who would take two of our "babies".  We wanted to keep one and we knew Rose would be ours.  I went to New York for about a week prior to my 21st birthday and I said goodbye to all of them because I knew I would possibly not see Charlie or David again.

This was our last and only family picture.

The morning I was coming back, Mickey's dad took Charlie and David to a good home. I was sad but I knew they would be better off.  I was excited to get back and see everyone, including Rose, who was ours to keep.

The last day I saw her was my birthday.  I played with her and the last words I told her were:
"Bye Rosie O'Donnell! I'll see you tomorrow!"
(or something to that effect)

I didn't see her the next day because it was jam-packed with stuff.
I didn't realize I would never see her again.

Monday May 27th, Mickey called me in the morning to tell me our sweet Rosie was gone.
It still hurts so much to think she's no longer with us.
We don't know what we did wrong but it happened that morning between 9:30 and 10:30.
She was fine the night before and she climbed up everything, just like she loved to do.

Mickey and I had raised our babies for a month and to think that Rose didn't make it still breaks my heart.  I've dealt with the loss of animals before but I've always looked at it on the bright side.
"They had a wonderful, long life and they're in peace now"

What hurts the most is that Rose was a baby.  She was OUR baby.  We helped her survive and learn to eat solid food, even when she was being stubborn.  We played with her and watched her as she would run through the house.

Mickey and I cried sporadically throughout that day (Memorial Day).
We still have moments were we think about Rose and getting back to her.  It's sad to think this was our last picture of her, it was the night before.  It was as if Buddy knew somehow.

Goodnight sweet Rose.  Thank you for lighting up our lives for the month you were with us. We enjoyed taking care of you.  You reminded me just how much I love kittens and I hope one day we'll be able to adopt a kitten and call her Rose. I hope you're doing well and that you aren't in pain.  Say hi to my mommy and Gypsy for me. You'll be in safe hands, don't worry.
We love you and miss you sweet Rosie.

Breaking Spring

Before I jump into talking about Spring Break, I just briefly wanted to talk about what we did right before Spring Break started.
I was one of the anchors for the Sportscast at our school's tv station!
WHOOPEE!!!
It was a blast and I can't wait to be the Entertainment Update Anchor for the April Newscast! :)
I already found the perfect dress!!
{Blue wrap dress at Forever21 for $12!!}

I got carried away.
:)

Okay, so back to Spring Break-age.
Mickey and I haven't been doing much other than, oh you know, visiting a local news studio!!
One of our teachers has an anchor as one of her students and we were lucky enough to be invited to see what she does on a daily basis!! How amazing!! It was unbelievable.
I got chills when they started.

CHILLS
.
I was blown away by everything.

I would love to work in the television industry.
Other than that, I started practicing for my violin-playing opportunity for easter services!! :)
Mickey and I have pretty much been taking it easy and trying to rest.
Unfortunately, my sweet darling is having to deal with wisdom teeth removal nonsense.  He didn't have a good experience today with this sucky lady who hurt him way too much.  Tomorrow is take two at a different place where they can completely numb him. Yay for anesthesia!! :)

Is it just me or does it look like Buddy is smiling? ;)

Please pray for my Mickey. Thank y'all.
Hope your Spring Break is going well!
